UP Mindanao BS Architecture alumni were awarded for their designs at the World Architecture Forum in July 2024. 

Ar. Gloryrose Dy-Metilla (BS Architecture 2009) was awarded Co-Winner in the WAFX '24 Power and Justice category for her "Peace-Building" design for the Maguindanao del Norte Provincial Capitol. 

Subsequently, Ar. Tom Pagaduan (BS Architecture 2007) was awarded in the Best Commercial Building Architecture Design category for his "New San Francisco Public Market & Terminal Complex" in the 2024 Asia Architecture Design Awards (AADA) held on July 25, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ar. Dy-Metilla and Ar. Pagaduan will present their winning project designs at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2024 in Singapore.

World Architecture Forum

The Department of Architecture celebrates the accomplishments of its graduates, with two projects making the shortlist for the prestigious World Architecture Festival 2024. Ar. Leslie Tom Pagaduan (BSA 2007) and Ar. Gloryrose Dy-Metilla (BSA 2009) are the principal architects of their projects. These projects are among the eight from the Philippines to be recognized, and uniquely, they are the sole representatives from Davao City. The festival is scheduled to take place from November 6 to 8, 2024, at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

"Armor: Stories" by UP Mindanao Assoc. Prof. John Bengan (Dep. of Humanities) has now been translated into the Albanian language by OMBRA GVG Publishing House, one of Albania's most well-known publishing houses. Its publications include a carefully selected variety of the most well-known classical and modern authors worldwide.

Prof.Bengan's "Armor" was a finalist in the recent 41st National Book Awards for short fiction in English and received the 23rd Madrigal Gonzalez Best First Book Award.

The UP Mindanao Department of Architecture graduates achieved another 100% passing performance in the June 2024 Licensure Examination of Architects (LEA). UPMin produced another 11 licensed architects to contribute to development in Mindanao and elsewhere.
