University President Angelo Jimenez issued Administrative Order No. PAJ 24-92 on September 10, 2024, with the subject "Instituting a Search Process for the Next Chancellor of UP Mindanao, and Constituting a Search Committee Therefore."

The order states, "The term of office of the Chancellor of UP Mindanao will end on 28 February 2025." Furthermore, it states, "Crucial to the process is the creation of a Search Committee," which "shall be constituted."

Nominations to the Search Committee are due September 27, 2024, after which the University President will constitute the Committee on October 4, 2024.

Three barangays in remote sites in Davao City will receive portable water systems and portable science laboratories, following an agreement between the University of the Philippines Mindanao and the Department of Science and Technology–Region XI.

UP Mindanao Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao signed the agreement with Mayan Jane Inni, DOST-XI assistant regional director for R&D for Development and Innovation, representing Regional Director Anthony Sales, in ceremonies held in Seda Hotel, Davao City, on September 9, 2024.

Prof. Gamot details the audit observations before the assembly of internal auditors

UP Mindanao's ISO Quality Management System project completed another milestone with the Internal Audit Closing Meeting on September 5, 2024. Quality Assurance Director Assoc. Prof. Ritchie Mae Gamot presented a summary of audit findings, as stipulated in the ISO 9001:2015 standard 9.2, before the assembly of UP Mindanao's designated internal auditors at the Gaisano Room. Prof. Gamot detailed the observed conformities, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement among the audit observations gathered over six days across six organizational clusters.

The UP Mindanao Ad Hoc Committee for the Implementation of PUSO and BULSA met with Dr. Rex Jalao, BULSA and PUSO project leader, on September 6, 2024, to discuss further plans for implementing the new systems in UP Mindanao.

The Budget Utilization and Liquidation System Analytics (BULSA) and the Personnel Unified Systems Outlook (PUSO) are information systems built for the university's use by the UP Diliman Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

According to Research Director Prof. May Anne Mata, UP Mindanao personnel will undergo end-user training in September in preparation for going live with the online systems by October.
